Howard W. Buffett

Howard W. Buffett is a professor at Columbia University, a bestselling author, and board member of Case New Holland (NYSE:CNH), Toyota (NYSE:TM), and Inari Agriculture. Previously he was executive director of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. Before that, he oversaw economic development programs for the U.S. Department of Defense in Afghanistan and Iraq, for which he earned the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award—the highest-ranking civilian honor presented by the Joint Chiefs of Staff approved by the Combatant Commanders. Previously, Howard was a policy advisor for the White House Domestic Policy Council, a member of the 2008-09 Presidential Transition Team, and held roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the UN Office for Partnerships. Howard has a BS from Northwestern University, an MPA Columbia University, an MBA from MIT, and executive education certificates from Harvard Business School. He also chairs the Advisory Council for Harvard’s International Negotiation Program.
