Suzy Friedman

Suzy Friedman is the Senior Director for Food Policy at WWF, where she identifies, develops, and advances emerging and promising opportunities to catalyze transformative change in critical nodes in food and agriculture systems to benefit climate, nature and people. This includes developing and advancing policy innovations and developing partnerships, projects, and platforms to demonstrate and scale sustainability approaches that connect diverse partners and value chain entities. Before joining WWF, Suzy served as Vice President for Policy at the National Alliance for Forest Owners. Between 2001 and 2020, she played a lead role in the Environmental Defense Fund’s work to build resilience and sustainability of the U.S. agricultural system. To this end, she collaborated with farmers, grower organizations, agribusinesses, food companies and retailers, focusing on outcomes for climate stability, clean water, and farm productivity. Suzy serves on several boards and steering committees, including Leading Harvest, AGree, Land Use Change Initiative, and Midwest Row Crop Collaborative. She holds a bachelor's degree in history and environmental studies from Princeton University and a master's in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University.
