Arun Baral is Chief Executive Officer of HarvestPlus and HarvestPlus Solutions, leading global efforts to develop and deliver biofortified, micronutrient-rich staple crops to combat hidden hunger. Since joining HarvestPlus in 2017 and becoming CEO in 2019, he has championed biofortification across the CGIAR system, private sector, and national research centers, and has focused on building partnerships to scale sustainable, nutritious food systems. Baral spearheaded the launch of HarvestPlus Solutions to scale improved agricultural technology to improve lives and reduce hidden hunger globally by ensuring affordable nutrition for all. With over 30 years in international agriculture, including 24 years at DuPont Pioneer in key leadership roles, he has worked extensively across Asia, Africa, the U.S., and Latin America. Baral is a CPA, and holds an MBA from Drake University.
