Thomas "Beau" Badon

Thomas "Beau" Badon, Ph.D. currently serves as the Agriculture Conservation Program Manager for the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies where he represents the state fish and wildlife agency priorities of all 50 U.S. states to Congress and federal agencies. Prior to that, he was a Class of 2025-2026 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Congressional Science Policy Fellow where he worked on Agriculture, Wildlife, Water, and Natural Resources portfolios in the Office of Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado, and was sponsored by the Tri-Societies in Agriculture (ASA-CSSA-SSSA). He earned a B.S. in Conservation Agriculture and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Tennessee (2018) with minors in Watershed Science and Wildlife and Fisheries Science. He completed a M.S. in Agronomy at Mississippi State University (2020), where he conducted research on the effectiveness of EQIP programs on water quality runoff from agricultural fields in the Mississippi Delta. Beau earned his Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences from Virginia Tech (2024), where he studied soil phosphorus availability and cycling on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
